Version 4.5 was releases almost 16 months ago. In the mean time I did a lot of bug fixes to make it as stable as possible.
Today I’m presenting 4.6. Most work has gone in to the importer of the feed.
The biggest change you will see if the way it looks when you do the manual import:
I have also added the option for you to select which feeds should be auto updated. If you select No it will not update the feed when running the auto import. It will still update it when you do a manual update.
On the back end I made some adjustments to the import too to make it work better and more consistent.
Let me know what you think of the changes.
Hi Robert,
After installing the TT plugin i imported a xml feed.
I noticed the size was really big and my site couldnt manage it. I deleted the xml feed so I could use smaller feeds instead.
I got troubles deleting the xml feed, therefor i decided to delete the plugin and reinstall. The plugin didnt delete, i had to do it via ftp.
After deleting i reinstalled the plugin but now i cant activate the plugin.
Maybe you can tell me why this is?
Yvo
Hi,
Does it give an error when you try to activate it ?
Robert
After clicking on activate it just does nothing, it keeps loading but nothing happens.
Yvo
Maybe it is still trying to do the import.
Best thing to do would be to go to your sql database and delete the tables:
wp_tradetracker_cat
wp_tradetracker_extra
wp_tradetracker_item
wp_tradetracker_layout
wp_tradetracker_multi
wp_tradetracker_store
wp_tradetracker_xml
After that it should do a clean install of the plugin.
Ok i will do, give me time to do 🙂
Hi,
I first had to figure out how to delete all.
After reinstalling it keeps hanging in the activate page.
So i can install but cant activate
Could you enable debug in WordPress to see why it is not going through?
Enable debugging in wordpress:
when you connect to you ftp server you will see a file called wp-config.php (located in the main folder where your wordpress in installed.
In that file you will see something like:
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);
you replace that with:
define(‘WP_DEBUG’ true);
define(‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true);
define(‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, false);
@ini_set(‘display_errors’,0);
If there is no reference to WP_DEBUG in wp-config.php you can just add the above part.
When you have done this you upload the file back to your server. Try to run the install now. After the activation is done you will have a file debug.log on your site. You can access it by typing http://www.websiteaddress.com/wp-content/debug.log use CTRL+F and see if you can find “tradetracker-store” or a “fatal error” This will give you a clue why the activation failed. Most of the time it will be a timeout or a memory error
Hi,
As you said there was a WP_DEBUG reference which i replaced in the lines you said.
After that i tried to go in WordPress cms but it wont show, there is a server problem.
When the wp-config is in the originally state again the website works again and can i enter the CMS
Hi did you edit the wp-config.php using notepad or another tool?
It could be something went wrong with the quotation marks
define('WP_DEBUG' true);
define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);
@ini_set('display_errors',0);
Still not. Maybe you can give me your email, i will send you the wp-config file in the originally state.
So maybe you can edit and send me the file back?
Hi,
info@wpaffiliatefeed.com is the email address. If possible could you also include the link to the site and a temporary admin account so I could see what causes it?
Groeten Ada
